Many of the studies on liver function-drugs for fatty liver injured. by carbon tetrachloride have been reported to the field of pharmacy, but the study on the mixed compounds was not so many.
On seven kinds of drugs, including orotic acid, inositol, methionine and those compounds, composed of orotic acid + inositol, orotic acid + methionine, inositol + methionine, orotic acid + inositol + methionine, were administered to rats of which liver is damaged by carbon tetrachloride. And Plasma bromsulfaphthalein retention, liver fats, amount of cholosterol and liver weight were examined.
As the results of these experiments, it was found that orotic acid is more effective than others and also it was known that the mixed compounds had addition. Especially the compound of orotic acid and inositol was the best.
